ONE CURRICULUM; THREE STREAMS

Penninghen offers a 5-year course of study, open to anyone aged 17 or over and accessible post-bac. The first of these five years is a foundation year in applied arts, enabling students to acquire the fundamental skills needed to pursue studies in interior architecture, communications or art direction.

A ranking, generated at the end of the first year, determines entry into the second year for 180 of the 300 students in the applied arts foundation year. Admission to the second year at Penninghen is therefore not possible after a foundation year at another school. Admission to the 3rd and 4th years is by application and interview.

REGISTRATION FOR THE FIRST YEAR AT PENNINGHEN

Admission to the first year at Penninghen is done outside of Parcoursup, without a competitive examination, file review or interview. From the outset, Penninghen's ambition has been to give everyone the chance to study art and design, whether or not they already have a background in the field. The first year enables students to acquire or deepen all the fundamentals of design, whether or not they can draw. You are expected to be diligent, creative, methodical and curious.

These qualities inspire passion and enable you to accept the difficulties of the creative process. To apply for the foundation year in applied arts, simply send the completed and signed application form to Penninghen's admissions department. Registrations are accepted subject to availability (300 places for the start of the 2025 academic year).

ADMISSION TO YEAR 3 AT PENNINGHEN

Admission to Year 3 of the Interior Architecture, Communication and Art Direction programs is open to students with at least a BAC+2 in interior architecture, design, communication, art direction or graphic arts. Admission is subject to a dossier review (consisting of a CV, covering letter, letter of recommendation and portfolio, demonstrating prior learning in the targeted disciplines) followed by a motivational interview with the school's pedagogical director.

Five admission sessions are organized each year between January and June. As places in the 3rd year are limited for each intake, the school encourages applicants to anticipate their admission process as early as possible.

ADMISSION TO THE 4TH YEAR (MASTER) AT PENNINGHEN

For the Interior Architecture, Communication and Art Direction Master's programs, parallel admission to the 4th year is based on a dossier (consisting of a CV, covering letter, letter of recommendation and portfolio). The portfolio must demonstrate experience in the disciplines of drawing and sketching, as well as in the field of graphic art and visual communication, or interior architecture and design, depending on the desired degree sought.

If Penninghen's pedagogical management accepts the application, the candidate is invited to the school for a half-hour motivational interview. If the school considers that the candidate's level is not sufficient for a fourth year, admission to the third year may be offered. Admissions to the 4th year start every year in January and run until June, with an admission session being held every month. Please note that places in the 4th year are limited, so the school encourages applicants to anticipate their admission process as early as possible.
