The Art Direction program at Penninghen

An Art or Creative director has a central role in the strategic process and has to demonstrate proficiency in design principles, design process, theory, history and contemporary design practice.

It is essential that they understand and apply design principles in the process of creating, analysing and evaluating graphic design solutions, taking into consideration new technology and interface possibilities. The aim is to develop  a comprehensive portfolio of 2 and 3 dimensional design work, both analogue and digital with proven proficiency in identified technical skills.

At Penninghen we bring together students, teachers, guest lecturers and alumni to create a student-centred learning environment in order to ensure that our students obtain all the design skills required for a successful career in the design industry.

Our teaching staff have a wealth of professional experience in a wide variety of different disciplines, which enables them to encourage students to balance creative inspiring with challenging work that meets the needs of the client brief. The quality of the teaching program at Penninghen is highly regarded within the design industry/ world both in France and internationally.

The Penninghen Art Director in Graphic and Digital Design design program is certified and enregistré by state in the Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles, level I, code NSF 320v, par arrêté publié au Journal Officiel du 19/01/2012.

Students who have obtained a Bachelor or Masters degree at ESAG are employed at Art Director level within a large variety of design sectors such as: Global Design, Graphic Design, New media, Internet design, Interactive Design.
